The Oasis Church is now over two years old. Planted in
February 2006, the group is growing steadily in
numbers, but more importantly we are growing in our
sense of community and in the development of those who
attend. We support one another and experience a
strong sense of belonging to a faith community.
In March 2008 the church has recently moved to
Waitangirua and opened a community centre and church
in the old bottle store – we think John Wesley would
have been pleased.
Our focus is to reach those who have lost contact with
church and help them to reconnect.
Our vision is to reach others through out of school
programmes and family based ministry.
The Church is involved in running a community centre
in Waitangirua. Yvonne is the secretary of the local
resident’s focus group. This group is looking at a
range of community development initiatives in the area
with a focus on reducing family violence.
